Introducing Mike McHugh re-enacting Vigirnia's own Patrick Henry delivering his famous speech. I thought this to be a fitting introduction to a webpage dedicated to showing the events of the Freedom Rally on Lobby day. The full speech can be viewed in part one of Valley Vision News' coverage of the event below.
Valley Vision News Covers the 10th Ammendment Rally Virginia Legislature Lobby Day January 18, 2010
Elizibeth Aldridge, Brian Trivett, my son Eric (who is 12) and myself left for Richmond at 5:30am. It was a beautiful day in the Capitol and all of us were excited about seeing what would happen as well as capturing it for our viewers in SW Va. The residents of Richmond and surrounding towns have a unique opportunity to see these events and participate in state government in ways those of us who live at the edges of the commonwealth do not. So, here is a mostly unedited presentation of all the speakers at the rally. A couple of speakers were left off because we only had an hour on TV to work with. By all accounts, this was the largest gathering of Virginians at the Capitol for lobby day ever. The program is broken up into two thirty minute segments. Click the images to the right to watch. Segment one begins with my introduction then John McHugh delivers Patrick Henry's famous address to the Va. Legislature intended to convince them to vote for Virginia joining the war against Great Britian. The rally was to support two pieces of legislation House Bills 10 and 69. You can find information on them here: http://www.va10thamendment.org/legislation Enjoy.
